Direct encounters with animals, meeting them eye to eye on their own ground, evokes a sudden wonder and respect. Their vivid life brings us alive to the source that creates and sustains all beings. Without such encounters we risk losing that part of ourselves which most deeply resonates with nature - the heart of compassion.

Hello Hawkins family!
this is Asya. Your place is magical and I really had such a wonderful time there. so magical connecting with the animals and being with a family that doesn't have the multitude of distraction that diversify our attention (for example lala land aka Los Angeles - from where I am ready to move - anywhere). Amidst the nonsense i am surrounded by, i still get wonderful hydrating wiffs of the experience I had with the land, the horses, goats, way of life, and especially the children-- that still lives within me-- like living memories that are nourishing in this empty city living. I wish i did teach dance to olivia, sammy, charlie and cameron -- i think i was too nervous -- which was all internal. you guys are great, unique, abundant, real, magical, soulful, creative, intelligent, artistic -- and it's all in relationship with land. thank you for the opportunity to stay in your home and feel so trusted and allowed to witness and be involved with your family. what a treasure...
I saw that lucy finally got her pups!! and there's a new baby goat? Noel is probably full size by now -- she either had a rebellious streak or was just growing into her personality when i was there. I remember the little pups that were born and nursing one of them all night -- =/ definitely a lesson in attachment, when he didn't make it.
Zorba is such an interesting horse, i definitely felt a sort of bond with him.
the ceramics experience was so great -- I have no idea how I pulled off that Goddess w/ snakes but i knew i would -- (i guessed she didn't make it past the kiln - it was great connecting with her and myself in that way though!)
The sugarcane was fantastic! and horse riding to buy milk was such an interesting experience -- especially seeing a family who lives together as adults without marrying etc- - and how differently they seem to develop...
really being able to witness alternative education -- opens my eyes to the idea that normal school is so crucial -- makes me re-evaluate how imight raise my kids in the future -- or even continuing my education --
I loved milking the goats!!
it's funny- you (elizabeth) said you didn't tihnk i would really work you first saw me, but i have much "work" inside me - i love earth work although i guess it's hidden from a so many years of city - which i still want to rub away
Having conversation about life and inner meaning
the yummy books
having a daily routine, feeding horses and milking goats (And drinking goat's milk! i still miss that) was so healthy for my pisces wateriness.
SO great!
i know i left you hangin at the end there -- sorry about that -- maybe it was the anti-anticipation of going back that was unnerving me.

blessings!

p.s.
I talked to a cousin of mine from israel who stayed with you guys a year ago for a week or two -- without knowing that i was there...!
sending you much love and if you ever need a reference, i'm your person!
